May 14th, 2012. Genre: punk.
Frank:
The Misfits: Angelfuck
One of the first punk bands I got into. I learned to play guitar by playing Misfits songs. -Frank
Horror punk is the shit even though it got weird lately. Danzig's voice makes this band just dont tell him his head is big enough. -Nate
Circle Jerks: Back Against The Wall
Possible the very first punk band I got into, and always a favorite.
This is back when punk was the genre, and I didn't think in terms of sub
genres. Not hardcore, pop, emo, ska, street, oi etc... -Frank
I
like Keith Morris and it was good that he split from Black Flag otherwise Henry Rollins wouldn't have joined the band and there would be no Circle Jerks. -Nate
The Herpees: Circa 2000
Punk rock as always embodied the DIY ethic. Just like so many others
before me, I heard punk rock and had to get involved. One of the ways I
did that was starting a record label and putting out a CD comp called
"Flee The Scene". This is a punk band from Oklahoma with a track from
the CD I put out. -Frank
Ahhh pimpen Fled good call this is in the same style of Blatz- Nate
Vice Squad: Last Rockers
Punk developed in the UK along with punk in the USA. Many would have you
believe that one country stole from the other, but in actuality, there
was quite a bit of back and forth. -Frank
Right, totally we stole from one another. I didn't even think about this band - Nathan
FEAR: Camarillo
Few bands manage to truly represent punk as well as Lee Ving and FEAR. -Frank
Hahahahahahahah nice call flea is the shit -Nate
Nate:
Dead Boys: Sonic Reducer
This nihilistic punk band has
its origins in Cleveland Ohio. Originally Rocket From the Tomb with influence from Detroit's music scene "Iggy Pop" -Nate
Very good choice. -Frank
Subhumans: Religious Wars
From Trowbridge area of Wiltshire England. Even heavily influenced by crass, I like this band. -Nate
The Riffs: Wasted Years
For my money this is one of
my favorite newer punk bands coming from Portland Oregon and is a throw
back to when punk had more of a rock n roll sound- Nate
Rancid: Time Bomb
Started in the bay area in 1991 with two members of Op Ivy they are what few punk bands are, musically talented. -Nate
This album rarely left the tape deck in my car. -Frank
One of those albums that just spoke to a lot of people and to itself- Nate
Stiff Little Fingers: Nobody's Hero
This band and song represents punk. The Irish Clash got their name from a Vibrators song. -Nate
The Clash: White Man in Hammersmith Palais
The only band that matters. -Nate
The only band that matters. -Frank
